Application Process
Application Process
Every scholarship has its own criteria, but all applications follow the same three stages. Read each one before you begin.
Applicants must be an active [State] BPA member in good standing at a chartered chapter, with dues paid for the current membership year. Most awards are open to graduating secondary members and to post-secondary members continuing in a business or information technology programme of study.
Your chapter advisor must confirm your membership status before the application is submitted. Individual awards may add their own requirements, so check the listing for the one you are applying to.
A complete application includes the online form, a current academic transcript, and at least one letter of recommendation from an advisor, instructor or employer.
Most awards also ask for a short personal statement describing your BPA involvement, your career goals, and how the award would support them. Submit everything through the form on this page before the published deadline. Late or incomplete applications are not reviewed.
Applications are scored independently by a review panel. Reviewers weigh BPA participation and leadership, academic record, the strength of the personal statement, and the quality of the recommendation.
Scores are combined and ranked, and recipients are notified before the State Leadership Conference, where awards are presented.
